Djanet Sears

Bio: Playwright, director and actor Djanet Sears came to international attention with her work Afrika Solo. More recently, her Harlem Duet was the winner of the Dora Mavor Moore Award, Chalmers Award and Governor General's Award. She is an adjunct professor at the University of Toronto and is the editor of a two-volume collection of African Canadian plays, Testifyin': Contemporary African Canadian Drama, and Tellin' It Like It Is: A Compendium of African Canadian Monologues for Actors.
